The Ville Platte High Lady Bulldogs secured two much needed wins Monday and Tuesday, as they downed the Welsh Lady Greyhounds 52-49 and the Comeaux Lady Spartans 56-22.
With the two wins, Ville Platte improves to 10-6 on the season, but more importantly the Lady Bulldogs secure valuable power points in their search for the best seed possible come playoff time. Ville Platte will host University Academy tomorrow night in a big non-district game.

Welsh vs. Ville Platte
Both teams came out swinging, as Ville Platte and Welsh finished the first quarter of play tied at 16-16. The Lady Bulldogs forged ahead in the second period, outpacing the Lady Greyhounds 16-12.
The third quarter belonged to Ville Platte, as they ended the period with a 14-9 advantage. Welsh tried to comeback in the final quarter, but it was too little too late.

Ville Platte jumped out to an 8-6 lead after one quarter of play and a 23-15 lead as the teams headed into the locker room.
The second half was dominated by the Lady Bulldogs defense, as they held the Class 5A Lady Spartans to six points in the third quarter and one point in the final period.
