Evangeline Parish hard court teams face rough night

It was not a very good night for the remainder of the parish basketball teams, as both Mamou and Pine Prairie boys and girls dropped important district contests Tuesday.
Here is a rundown of all of those games.

Mamou (G) vs. Eunice
Lack of offense continues to be the downfall of Mamou (6-13, 1-4), as the Eunice Lady Bobcats took a 55-19 home win over the Lady Demons.
Mamou could never get any thing going on the offensive side of the floor, scoring only five points in the first quarter and seven in the second quarter, as Eunice led 33-12 at the half.
The second half was not much better, as the Lady Bobcats held the Lady Demons to seven total points on their way to the win.

Mamou (B) vs. Eunice
Mamou picked up their eighth loss in a row, as they fell to the Eunice Bobcats 74-48 in a District 5-3A contest.
Eunice sprinted out to a 20-9 lead after one quarter of play. The Demons (7-17, 0-5) increased the pace in the second quarter, only being out scored 15-14.
But, another third quarter meltdown allowed the Bobcats to out pace Mamou 24-11 and pretty much seal the win. The final quarter was identical to the first in terms of scoring, but it was too little too late for the Demons.

Pine Prairie (G)
vs. Northwest
Just like Mamou, points came few and far between for Pine Prairie (15-8, 2-3), as they got handled easily by the Northwest Lady Raiders in a 65-25 loss.
Northwest sailed to a 14-4 first quarter lead and maintained that momentum to out gain the Lady Panthers 25-8 in the second quarter.
Pine Prairie only managed to put up eight points in the third quarter and five points in the final period.

Pine Prairie (B)
vs. Northwest
Pine Prairie suffered their first district loss of the year, as the Panthers (13-3, 4-1) fell to the Northwest Raiders 71-60.
Despite leading 20-17 after one quarter of play, Northwest was able to out produce Pine Prairie by three points in the second quarter, six points in the third quarter and five points in the final period.
