DYB, VPGSA action heats back up at the park
After a brief hiatus, action heated back up at the Ville Platte/Evangeline Recreational Complex beginning on Tuesday.
Here is a rundown of most of Tuesday and Wednesday’s games:
Aces vs. Cubs (6U)
In T-ball action on Tuesday, the Cubs and the Aces went down to the wire as the Aces were able to pull out a thrilling 19-17 win.
The Cubs jumped on top of the Aces 4-3 after one inning of play. The Aces tied things back up with a 6-5 advantage in the next inning.
The Aces were able to outscore the Cubs 5-4 in the next two innings to seal the win.
Cubs vs. Aces (10U)
An early one run lead allowed the Aces to a commanding 5-1 win over the Cubs.
The Aces led 2-1 after one inning of play and added another run in the second inning. After a scoreless third inning, the Aces completed the victory with two more runs in the fourth.
Kits vs. Chicks (8U)
Big first and fourth innings allowed the Chicks to roll past the Kits 13-7.
The Chicks held a 4--0 lead after one inning and a 7-4 lead after two innings. Each team picked up two runs apiece in the third inning, however the Chicks outpaced the Kits 4-1 in the final at bat.
In what wound up being a very tight ball game, the Crickets outgained the Fireflies 5-3 in the final at bat of the game to take a 15-13 win.
The game was tied 5-5 after the first inning of play and 10-10 once the second inning was completed.
The Lovebugs opened up a 5-2 lead after one inning of play and used that to take home a 15-13 win over the Lovebugs.
