“We started the 7U all-stars this season to give the players a chance to continue playing for the league in the summer,” stated head coach David LaHaye. “We thought it was important that these kids get the chance to play with each other more and to keep interest in Dixie Youth alive. We are just hoping the players learn a lot this summer and they continue to grow as ball players. We are here to compete, but also to have fun.”
The 6U All-Stars must hit the road to Deridder for their tournament play. Ville Platte takes on the host team at 5:30 p.m. today and face South Beauregard at 7 p.m.
On Firday the All-Stars have only one contest as they play Vernon American at 5:30 p.m.
Saturday’s schedule includes a trio of games for Ville Platte. The All-Stars play Dequincy at 10:30 a.m., Deridder at 12 p.m. and South Beauregard at 3 p.m.
