Despite some very fruitful seasons, both the Mamou Demons and the Pine Prairie Panthers were unable to make it happen in the first round of the Class 3A baseball playoffs.
With the losses, Mamou finishes the year with an overall record of 13-17 while Pine Prairie completes their 2019 campaign with an overall record of 15-16.
Here is a recap of both of those post-season games.

Mamou vs. Iowa
The Mamou Demons fell just short of getting to the second round of the playoffs with a 6-5 loss to the Yellow Jackets.
Mamou scored four runs in the top of the sixth to jump ahead of Iowa 5-2. Never-the-less, the Yellow Jackets were able to pick up four runs in the bottom half of the inning for the win.

Pine Prairie vs.
North Vermilion
It was all Patriots from the beginning of the game, as North Vermilion jumped out to a 5-0 lead after two innings of play in a 12-8 win over the Panthers.
Pine Prairie tried to make a game of it in the top of the fourth by scoring four runs of their own. In that at bat JJ Sims, Jordan Ardoin, Joel Franks and Gage Strother all reached home plate.
However, the Patriots put up five more runs in the bottom half of the inning to stretch their lead to 10-4. Pine Prairie finished the game with two runs in each of the final two innings of play.
