Bulldogs, Lady Bulldogs drop league games to Kinder

VILLE PLATTE -- It was not the day that the Ville Platte High baseball and softball teams planned when they took to the field Thursday afternoon to face off against Kinder High School in district play.
The Lady Bulldogs gave up 12 hits and committed four errors in a 12-0 loss to the Lady Yellow Jackets.
With the loss, the Lady Bulldogs are now 6-5 on the year and 3-3 in league competition.
Meanwhile, right next door, the Bulldog baseball team had their hands full, as they fell 16-0 to the Yellow Jackets.
Ville Platte falls to 0-10 on the season and 0-5 in district play.

Kinder (G) vs.
Ville Platte
Kinder picked up two of their runs in the top of the first inning. Chloe Hamilton and Laura Gartman each singled and scored to give the Lady Yellow Jackets a 2-0 lead.
Kinder put the game away in the top of the second, collecting eight runs as the Lady Yellow Jackets batted around. In the at bat, Kinder picked up singles from Asia Richard, Hamilton, Chloe Oliver, Lexi Fontenot and Sydney Semien.
In the top of the fourth, Kinder completed their scoring effort by adding two more runs. Fontenot singled and moved to third on a Seemion double. Both players would reach the plate on errors by the Lady Bulldog defense.
Arlee Darbonne got the win in the circle for the Lady Yellow Jackets, going five innings, giving up no runs on three hits and striking out eight.
Hanna Monier suffered the loss, allowing 10 earned runs on 12 hits.
Monier, Alyssa Soileau and Hailey Bordelon all had one hit apiece to lead Ville Platte.

Kinder (B) vs.
Ville Platte
Kinder jumped out to an early 7-0 lead after one inning of play and never looked back in their win over Ville Platte.
The Yellow Jackets scored four more runs in the second inning and added five runs in the top of the third.
Ville Platte had runners get in scoring position in the second and fifth innings, but could not string together enough hits to pull out any runs at all.
