A ceremony honoring the artistic impact of the late Waven Boone was held on Friday, June 13, inside Ville Platte City Hall. The program included remarks from the Boone family, public officials, educators, friends, fellow artists and musicians, and former students.

The 2025 Boggy Bayou royalty were crowned on Saturday evening March 15, at the Sherman Place Event Venue in Crooked Creek. The newly-crowned royals will reign over the 40th annual Boggy Bayou Festival, which begins in Pine Prairie today, May 8, and continues through Saturday, May 10.
