MAMOU - It is with heavy hearts that the family of Roger Lee Aucoin announces his passing on Friday, January 27, 2023, at the age of 68. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou at 2 p.m. Burial followed in the Reed Cemetery.

Rita Joy Fontenot Soileau, native of Ville Platte and resident of Greenwell Springs, passed away on January 14, 2023, at the age of 84. Rita Joy worked for Chevrolet of Ville Platte for over 35 years and loved genealogy.

MAMOU - John Ralph Vezinat- Mamou. The man. The myth. The legend. John, also known as the Ginger Ninja, passed away on January 15, 2023, at the age of 73. He was an entrepreneur, philanthropist, artist, musician, and pilot.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Joseph Anthony “Tony” Brown at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 20, 2023, at St. Peter Catholic Church, in Pine Prairie, followed by interment at St. Peter Cemetery, in Pine Prairie. Tony passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023, at his residence.
