The 41st annual Boggy Bayou Pageant was held Saturday, March 14, at the Sherman Place Event Venue in Crooked Creek. Winners and runners-up were announced as follows:
Deb Miss: Vivian Joubert, the 10-year-old daughter of Shannon and Brandy Joubert of St. Landry, was crowned Deb Miss Boggy Bayou.
Junior Miss: Lyla Cormier, the 12-year-old daughter of Donna and Jeremy Cormier of Jennings, was chosen as Junior Miss Boggy Bayou. Lily Ann Blanchard, the 13-year-old daughter of Damon and Chasity Blanchard of Ville Platte, was named first alternate to the new Junior Miss queen.
Teen Miss: Emma Grace Wiltz, the 16-year-old daughter of Alex and Krystal Wiltz of DeRidder, was selected as Teen Miss Boggy Bayou. She is a sophomore and DeRidder High School, where she maintains a 4.0 GPA, is a member of the varsity cheer squad and has been nominated for the Hoby Leadership team.
Also serving as members of the Teen Miss Boggy Bayou court were Jayden Abagail Vargas, the 14-year-old daughter of Luis and Shannon Vargas of New Llano, first alternate; and Sierra Elise Fontenot, the 15-year-old daughter of Shawn and Samantha Fontenot of Pine Prairie, second alternate.
Miss: Chloe Brook Childers, the 18-year-old daughter of Brook Vidrine of Washington, was crowned Miss Boggy Bayou. She is a senior at Northwest High School, where she is a member of BETA, 4-H, FFA, Honors English Club, Science Club and Yearbook Club. Childers recently began working at KVPI in Ville Platte. She previously held the title of Teen Miss Boggy Bayou in 2023, which began her dream to come back and compete for the Miss title.
Rounding out the new queen’s court were Lily Caitlyn Jean Viator the 18-year-old daughter of Marie and Jason Viator of Morgan City, first alternate; and Payton Lynn Estilette, the 17-year-old daughter of Grant and Melissa Estilette of Pine Prairie, second alternate.
Ms.: Kristy Cole of Leesville captured the Ms. Boggy Bayou title. She and her husband, Josh, are the owners of Fatboy and Skinny’s Restaurant in Leesville. The restaurant has received several awards, including best new restaurant in Cenla and best burger for multiple years.
Serving as runners-up to the new Ms. Queen are Brandy Joubert of St. Landry, first alternate; and Shiann Wilson of Evangeline Parish, second alternate.
