By: TONY MARKS Editor VILLE PLATTE - The executive committee of the Evangeline Parish School Board, during a meeting held Wednesday, August 27, voted to proceed with plans on leasing the Hester Heath property in Bayou Chicot to the Evangeline Parish Police Jury.

Unrestrained teen is killed in crash

VILLE PLATTE – On August 27, shortly after 10 p.m., troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop I began investigating a single vehicle fatality crash on U.S. Highway 167 near Filly Lane in Evangeline Parish. The crash claimed the life of 19-year-old Brian Walker, of Ville Platte.
