PINE PRAIRIE - A memorial service was held for Warren Paul “Zeke” Guillory, 67, at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. A visitation began at 8 a.m. in the La Vieille Eglise Church Hall in Pine Prairie. The services were conducted by Father Kenneth Mayne.

Playground equipment is to be installed at ballpark in Pine Prairie

By: TONY MARKS Editor The Pine Prairie Council, during its meeting on Thursday, July 14, authorized Mayor Quint West to spend $80 thousand for playground equipment. Mayor West explained the equipment will be installed at the ballpark and described it as professional and turn-key.

The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office reported the following recent bookings into the parish jail. Arrested were the following persons: • Dennis Randall Book, 44, St. Landry, was arrested July 13, 2022, by the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office for theft and criminal trespass.
