Traffic stop leads to wanted felon

Staff Report The Evangeline Parish Sheriff Department’s Traffic Enforcement Division, on Friday, November 11, conducted a stop on I-49 for a violation. Once the deputy checked the driver’s identity, it was learned he was wanted by multiple law enforcement agencies.

Funeral services for Stephen Anthony “Chocolate” Manuel were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 13, 2022, in the chapel at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte. Father Andrew Killeen was the officiant of the service, which was followed by entombment at Sacred Heart Mausoleum.
