Pitbull attacks Basile boy in Mamou

By: DARREL LEJEUNE LSN Editor MAMOU - The recent 4th of July holiday became a nightmare for the Hunter and Courtney Maricle family of Basile when their five-year-old son Brantley was attacked by a pit bull while making a brief stop in the yard of his great-grandmother at 1813 Buzz Lane in Mamou.

Chief Thomas confirms shooting

Ville Platte Police Chief Al Perry Thomas confirmed a shooting took place inside the city on the afternoon of Tuesday, July 11. The shooting took place near the intersection of N. Chataignier Street and E. LaSalle Street. According to the chief, nobody was injured.

Funds will be received for new VP fire station

VILLE PLATTE - Funeral services for Mr. Harold Victor “Bozo” Stromer, 90, were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday July 9, 2023, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Father Tom Voorhies officiated the funeral services.

Eunice tennis fall registration is underway

The Eunice Ladies Tennis League (ELTL) fall registration is underway. All women are welcomed to join, and must be knowledgeable about the game, scoring, and court etiquette. There will be 12-weeks of play, beginning with the first match on Tuesday, Aug. 29 at 6 p.m.
