Pursuit follows shooting in East Side Subdivision

By: TONY MARKS Editor Shots rang out at a residence located in the East Side Subdivision, outside of Ville Platte, on the afternoon of Thursday, August 31. Sheriff Charles Guillory reported nobody was injured. After the shooting, the suspect fled the scene on a motorcycle.

Body is found of missing VP teenager

The body of VonShonskee “Shonskee” Charles, an 18-year-old from Ville Platte, was found on Colt Avenue on Tuesday, August 29. Charles was reported missing on Monday, August 21. According to reports, he was last seen on foot. The investigation continues as to the cause of death.
