Santa begins trial run though parish this week

By: TONY MARKS Editor As Santa Claus prepares to make his way on Christmas Eve, he will make a trial run through Evangeline Parish while riding atop fire trucks in the various Christmas parades. The parades begin Saturday, December 2, in Pine Prairie, at 4 p.m. Lineup is at 3:30 p.m.

Parish Library is assisting CASA toy drive

The Evangeline Parish Sheriff Office is collecting new toys and/or monetary donations for the needy children in our parish. Please drop off the toys or donations at 415 W. Cotton Street in Ville Platte.

EPSD schools and teachers doing the hard lift for improved literacy

Parish 4-H students attend AgMagic

By: KENNETH GAUTREAUX LSU AgCenter ALEXANDRIA — More than 1,100 students across a 10-parish region in central Louisiana got to hold a live alligator, see cotton ginned and learn the importance of proper handwashing during a trip through AgMagic, the LSU AgCenter agricultural-themed exhibit.
