Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m., on Monday, June 17, 2024, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Opelousas, for Mr. Maurice Williams, 90, who entered eternal rest, Sunday, June 9, 2024, at Savoy Care Center in Mamou. Interment will be in Ninth Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, in Ville Platte.

Part of three gold medal-winning Olympic teams and four WNBA title teams. Was on the cover of Sports Illustrated for Women as a high school freshman. Police jury unleashes tax proposal on November ballot
