Naval vet, VFW commander passes away

A naval veteran and a commander of the local Veterans of Foreign Wars post has passed away on Tuesday, August 27. Patrick “Pat” Addie Guillory, a cherished husband, father, brother, and grandfather, was born on August 4, 1952, in Ville Platte.

Tri-Parish workforce holds steady

The workforce counts in St. Landry and Evangeline parishes declined in July compared to a year ago, according to data released by the Louisiana Workforce Commission. But the Tri-Parish workforce count declined by 34 to 68,981 in July compared to a year ago.
