Amanda Johnson Tibodeaux died on May 21, 2025. She was 96 years old and a resident of Kenner. Amanda donated her body to science. Her remains will be returned to the family by the LSU Medical Center. There will be a private graveside service at the Addison-Johnson Cemetery.

Changes coming to USPS rates and delivery times

LSN Report The United States Postal Service is implementing several changes starting July 13, including increased postage rates and pending adjustments to service standards. The price of a First- Class Mail Forever stamp will increase by 5 cents, from 73 cents to 78 cents.

Staff Report On July 14, 1918, American troops, under the command of General John J. Pershing, marched in Paris for the annual Bastille Day Parade. Among those marching was a corporal who was a native of Church Point and who had since moved to raise his family in Chataignier, Josien Ardoin.
