The Evangeline Parish Sheriff Department Criminal Patrol Unit, on Monday, February 22, conducted a traffic stop on a car on La Hwy 10. When the deputy approached, the driver refused to put his window down and exit the car. The driver of the car then took off.
Deputies then pursued the car through the Vidrine area at speeds of over 85 mph. The driver ran several people off the road by passing on the shoulder. The pursuit crossed Hwy 13 and continued towards Oakdale at speeds of 95 mph.
The pursuit crossed into Allen Parish where deputies from both parishes were able to stop the car. The driver was arrested and narcotics were located in his car. Once the suspect is released from the Allen Parish jail, he will be returned to Ville Platte to face charges here.

He will be charged with several traffic felonies.
Also, on that same day of the week, Criminal Patrol Agents stopped a silver Cadillac on La Hwy 13 for no license plate. Deputies made contact with the occupants and explained the reason for the stop. K-9 Diego was called to the scene and gave a positive alert on the car. Deputies then searched the car and found narcotics which led to the following actions.

On a separate incident, also in the late-night hours of February 22, Criminal Patrol Agents executed a search warrant on a residence located at 5757 North Crooked Creek Road. The search resulted in the recovery of a large amount of narcotics. The following were charged as follows.

Then, on the very early morning hours of February 23, the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Departments Criminal Patrol unit executed another search warrant on residence located at 1470 Ball Park Road in Mamou. The homeowner was charged as follows.
