A family in the Belaire Cove area on Mars Rice Road was impacted by an electrical fire over the weekend and lost everything in the blaze. No one was home during the incident.
Responsing to the incident were firefighters from Ville Platte, Belaire Cove, and Chataignier.
“It’s been devastating. All my life I lived in this house,” Sidney Gallow said.
Living with Gallow in the home were his wife, his two daughters, and his 10-month old son, according to KATC-TV.
“It’s pretty hard,” Gallow said. “All their Christmas toys that they’ve had is pretty much gone.”
Rosa Richard, Gallow’s mother-in-law, is helping the family pick up the pieces. She told KATC, “I mean they lost everything. When I got here they were screaming and crying. I said, ‘Lord Jesus, those kids.’ She said, ‘Momma, I don’t have anything.’ I said, ‘You got God.’ He spared their life, and that’s the main thing that I thank God for.”
She added, “We’re praying for strength mainly to keep us going that we can get a fresh start.”
A GoFundMe account has been created to help the family with donations. Also needed by the family are the following clothes items:
