To kick off its Summer Reading program, the main branch of the Evangeline Parish Library in Ville Platte welcomed Bar None Ranch Pony and Petting Zoo Parties on Wednesday, June 9. Pictured is the large crowd gathers around the petting zoo area to enjoy playing with the animals.

The Bearcat USA Wrestling Club will be holding a free wrestling clinic on July 13 and 14 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at Basile High School. Any child 5 years old or older or starting Kindergarten this upcoming school year and higher is eligible to participate.

ACADEMIC LETTERMEN - To earn the academic letter honor, students must have taken the TOPS college curriculum and maintained an overall 3.5 grade point average for their four high school years. They receive a patch for their athletic jackets.
