Natalie LeBas of Ville Platte was crowned the University of Louisiana Monroe homecoming queen during halftime of the ULM-South Alabama football game on Oct. 23. The Warhawks won the game 41-31. LeBas was selected for the homecoming court for her outstanding student involvement. The ULM student body chose LeBas from other seniors on the court as queen.
LeBas is a senior studying biology. She is the recipient of multiple academic honors, including the Dean’s List. LeBas is a member of Kappa Delta, the Student Government Association, and Catholic Campus Ministry.
“During my first visit to ULM, I was blown away by the beauty of campus and the friendliness of the students, faculty, and staff I had met,” LeBas said. “ULM felt like home.”
After graduation, LeBas plans to attend dental school.
Also represented on the ULM homecoming court was Kylie LeBas, sister of Natalie.
The younger LeBas is a sophomore studying biology. She has held multiple leadership positions within the Student Government Association, and is also a member of Kappa Delta and Catholic Campus Ministry.
“My favorite memory at ULM was spending my time on campus this summer as a PREP staffer and preparing the incoming freshmen to experience life here at ULM,” Kylie LeBas said. “I got to spend it with my sister Natalie, and had some of the best times with my best friends.”
After graduation, Kylie LeBas plans to attend medical school to become a pediatrician. Both sisters are graduates of Sacred Heart School. They are the daughters of Nick and Nicole LeBas, who also graduated from ULM (then Northeast Louisiana University).
Also represented from Ville Platte on the ULM homecoming court was Mary Dupre, a freshman studying pre-pharmacy. Dupre is a member of Kappa Delta and the Student Government Association.
“I chose ULM because it has the best pharmacy program in the state, but when I was so warmly welcomed by so many people during my PREP orientation session, I knew without a doubt that I had made the right decision,” Dupre said.
After graduation, Dupre plans to attain a Doctor of Pharmacy from ULM. She is an alumna of Sacred Heart School and the daughter of Kirk and Amy Dupre.
