Queen Cotton LXXI: Guilbeau to reign over festival

Chloe Guilbeau was crowned Queen Cotton LXXI during the 71th Annual Queen Cotton Pageant held Saturday afternoon, September 20, at the Northside Civic Center.
Guilbeau, the 23-year-old daughter of Jacob and Amanda Guilbeau of Rayne, is a 2020 graduate of Rayne High School, where she graduated in Honors Club and represented her school at Girls State at McNeese State University. Guilbeau also was a member of the Junior Rotary Club and nominated for the Youth Rotary Leadership Camp. She is currently a senior at LSU-Eunice, where she is pursuing a degree in general studies with a focus in finance. After graduating from LSU-E, Guilbeau plans to continue her education in finance and hopes to one day earn a master’s degree in business administration. She is also pursuing a notary license.
Guilbeau is a proud member of the Our Savior’s Women’s Group, supporting girls in their journey as a Christian. She takes pride in balancing college, work and everyday life.
The new Queen Cotton’s hobbies include reading, thrift shopping, traveling and enjoying a good afternoon with family and friends.
As Queen Cotton LXXI, Guilbeau plans to advocate for the farmers, families and dedication it takes to represent the community’s history. She says, “Being Queen Cotton, it will be an honor to represent such a vital part of Louisiana’s broad agricultural heritage.”
In addition to Guilbeau being crowned Queen Cotton LXXI, Bob Manuel was crowned King Cotton LXXI. Darion Arvie was honored as Grand Parade Marshal during the pageant festivities. Carissa Hebert was posthumously recognized as this year’s Colonel Cotton. Heritage Manor La Reine Susan Graser and Le Roi James Ervin Bordelon were also crowned during the afternoon pageant.
