Holy Week is celebrated this year from April 10-16, 2022. The word holy means “unique,” different, one of a kind. Therefore, Holy Week is to be a one of a kind week. It is a time in which Christians are encouraged to practice spiritual disciplines that focus on the last week of Jesus’ life before He was crucified. Spiritual devotions include Bible reading, reflections, prayer, and meditation on the suffering and painful execution of Jesus.
Palm Sunday recalls the day Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey and was greeted by crowds of people who waved palm branches and shouted “Hosannah,” which means “Save us now.” Good Friday observes the day of Jesus’ crucifixion. Let us keep in mind what Easter is all about.
