By: TONY MARKS Editor One softball team already punched its ticket for the quarterfinal round on Monday. Another team looked to do the same thing on Tuesday, but the weather caused a delay and forced the game to resume the following day.

The City of Ville Platte, in recognition of the successes on the court this season, presented proclamations to the basketball coaches of Sacred Heart High School and Ville Platte High School. The presentations were made on Wednesday, April 16, at city hall.

By: TONY MARKS Editor It may not be Emmaus, but all roads this time of year lead to Sulphur for the LHSAA state softball championships. All five of the high school teams from the parish find themselves along the way to Frasch Park.

Baseball teams begin on their road to Sulphur

By: TONY MARKS Editor Twenty-eight years after the Sacred Heart football team hosted Hanson Memorial in the first round of the playoffs, the teams are meeting again in the playoffs as both team begin their road to Sulphur for the state baseball tournament.

Pine Prairie softball team claims district title

By: TONY MARKS Editor In their final district game of the season, the Pine Prairie Lady Panthers claimed the District 4-3A championship for the third consecutive season. The 3-0 win came at the expense of the Mamou Lady Green Demons.

Sacred Heart softball team claims district crown

By: TONY MARKS Editor With a 5-1 win on the road, the Sacred Heart softball team earned the district crown in District 5-1A. The win, on Thursday, April 3, came against a Catholic-Pointe Coupee team that knocked the Lady Trojans out of the state tournament in Sulphur last season.
