By: TONY MARKS Editor PINE PRAIRIE - The Pine Prairie football team opened summer workouts this week with a different feel around them. For the past several years, they have had a head coach who was one-and-done. They now have a head coach who is returning for his second season with the program.

By: TONY MARKS Editor PINE PRAIRIE - Society today puts a lot of emphasis on value. For shoppers, value comes from a cheap price for a big product. For fast-food lovers, value comes from how many patties are on their hamburger. Values have a role to play in baseball as well.

Medical professionals from across the community came together on Thursday, May 22, as Healthworks Rehab LLC, in Ville Platte, again hosted the high school athletic physicals for Ville Platte, Mamou, Pine Prairie, and Sacred Heart.

Ware uses youthful spirit to lead her to success

By: TONY MARKS Editor PINE PRAIRIE - With only 300 soldiers, the ancient Spartan army withstood an assault from the Persian army led by King Xerxes at the Battle of Thermopylae. Kynnedi Ware, a freshman pitcher on the Pine Prairie softball team, also found success with a similar number.
