By: TONY MARKS Editor MAMOU - With the threat of inclement weather, the Evangeline Parish Jamboree was moved to Thursday, August 28, but the offenses were not bothered by the date change as the four teams combined for 53 points. The following is a rundown of both games.

By: TONY MARKS Editor BASILE - A week before facing each other in the Evangeline Parish Jamboree, the Basile Bearcats hosted the Pine Prairie Panthers in a scrimmage on Thursday, August 21.

From doubt to determination

By: DARREL LEJEUNE LSN Editor OBERLIN - After a week of uncertainty, Oberlin High School confirmed Monday afternoon that the Tigers will take the field this fall as a varsity football squad. Oberlin is scheduled to play the Basile Bearcats on Thursday, October 30, at home.

By: TONY MARKS Editor VILLE PLATTE - The Ville Platte High School football program took strides to become more of a competitor on the field. However, a sudden change in the coaching staff caused the train to derail and threw a monkey wrench into the program’s plans for success.
