By: TONY MARKS Editor Latest enrollment numbers were released on Monday, October 20, by the Louisiana High School Athletic Association. Based on the numbers, some local schools will either be moving up or down in classifications.

By: TONY MARKS Editor MAMOU - Mamou outgained Ville Platte High 316 yards to 207 yards, but it was not enough. Also not enough were 36 minutes in regulation as the game went into overtime.

By: TONY MARKS Editor VILLE PLATTE - On October 14, 2022, Sacred Heart earned a 30-17 win over St. Edmund in Eunice. A season later, the Blue Jays avenged the loss with a 21-14 win at Sacred Heart and followed it up with a 58-7 home win last season.

Ball control, big defense result in Basile’s win

By: DARREL LEJEUNE LSN Editor The Basile Bearcats relied on good old-fashioned football in an important district contest at home against Merryville last Friday, using defense, ball control, and a couple of clutch interceptions to earn a 7–0 win over the Grand Lake Hornets.

PPHS remains winless after loss to Church Point

By: TONY MARKS Editor CHURCH POINT - The Church Point football team stretched its district winning streak to six games, dating back to last season after a 67-0 win over Pine Prairie Friday night. With the win, the Bears improved this season’s mark to 5-1 and are 3-0 in district play.

Mamou stumbles on the road against Abbeville

The Abbeville Meridional The Abbeville Wildcats have a new streak going. It is called a winning streak. After losing 14 straight games dating back to last season, the Wildcats ended that streak with a win over LaGrange last Friday.
