Curfew is announced for Ville Platte

Sunday, Ville Platte Mayor Jennifer Vidrine announced a city-wide curfew, effective March 30 for adults, minors, and businesses until further notice. The curfew will be from 9:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. until further notice.

A Stay at Home order was issued Monday by Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards. Louisiana residents are asked to stay home unless they absolutely need to perform essential tasks, such as grocery shopping, going to the bank, walking pets, etc.

Local businesses are impacted by coronavirus

Local stores have made changes to deal with COVID-19. Teets Food Store is now limiting the purchase of toilet paper, rice, ground beef, chicken, milk, eggs, household essentials, water, and cold/flu medicine to give time to restock their inventory.
