By: DARREL LEJEUNE LSN Editor Constable Earlin Fruge of the Tiger Point community was buried following a Funeral Mass at St. Anthony’s Church in Eunice on Thursday, July 11 after passing away at St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria on Monday, July 8, after a brief illness.

The Criminal Investigations Division with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office, on June 12, was informed of a sexual assault between an uncle and his 10 year-old niece, which took place approximately one year ago.

Tip leads to arrest of Vidrine in Vernon Parish

Deputies with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office, on May 24, received a tip that Triston Vidrine (white male DOB: November 20, 1996), of Ville Platte, who had felony warrants, was at an address on Majic Lane, in Pine Prairie.

MPD seeks suspect in attempted second degree murder

On March 20, around 10 p.m., a drive-by shooting took place near the 600 block of 7th street, by JD Bank, in Mamou. A brown Buick, occupied by four individuals, drove past teenagers walking home. Two of the teenagers were under the age of 14.
