Welch is charged with cruelty to a juvenile

On October 28th, 2024 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office received a complaint from the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) of a 3-year-old male being admitted to the St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria La.

Chief A. Perry Thomas reports that, after further investigation, the Negligent Homicide charge against Christopher Marquess has been upgraded to 2nd Degree Murder.

On Monday, November 4, 2024 the Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of a reckless driver on Miller’s Lake Road traveling east towards Ville Platte. A bolo was sent out to all units with a description of the vehicle.

PP police chief is arrested

Sources have confirmed Pine Prairie Chief of Police LC Deshotel was arrested for DWI. More information will be released as it becomes available.
