Ville Platte Police Chief A. Perry Thomas reports 37-year-old Costandzer Arvie, of Ville Platte, escaped from an Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Deputy’s custody while being transported to the Ville Platte City Jail on September 9.

Former MPD officer is arrested for rape

In early August of 2026, detectives with the Allen Parish Sheriff’s Office received a criminal complaint alleging that Christopher Paul, 48, of Elizabeth, sexually assaulted two female juveniles when they were approximately 13 years old.

Court of Appeal affirms conviction of Madrigal
