LSU-E ends stadium era with championship game loss

By: RHETT MANUEL Sports Editor EUNICE – It’s the end of an era on LSU-Eunice’s campus. With the school moving forward with a renovation project of its baseball complex soon, the NJCAA Region 23 baseball tournament was the curtain call for the ballpark in its original iteration.
While flanked by members of the Sacred Heart baseball team, Briggs Ardoin (seated) is pictured after signing to continue his playing career at Baton Rouge Community College. By: TONY MARKS Editor The dream of playing baseball is continuing for Owen Smith after signing to play at the next level with McLennan College in Waco, Texas. “It’s an absolute blessing,” said Smith, the 18-year-old son of Gerard and Holly Smith and grandson of Terryl and Barbara Fontenot.
