City is awarded federal grant for sewer system

The City of Ville Platte, in 2021 was awarded a federal grant by the Delta Regional Authority (DRA) through the States’ Economic Development Assistance Program (SEDAP). The City will utilize DRA funds to make vital improvements necessary to update the sewer facilities.

By: TONY MARKS Editor Auguste Louis Jeansonne, who survived being a prisoner of war during the bloodiest conflict in American history, climbed up on his roof to fix a leak just four days shy of turning 112 years old. As he was fixing the leak, he fell off his roof and broke his hip.
