Highway priority hearing to be held

A series of Public Hearings will be held in accordance with LA R.S. 48:231 and conducted by the Joint Transportation, Highways and Public Works Committee, according to a press release from the Department of Transportation and Development.

Le Grand Hoorah celebrates 10 years

The 10th Annual Le Grand Hoorah was held this past weekend at Lakeview Park and Beach. The event began on Friday, October 31, with a Boo-Rah that featured trick-or-treating from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and live music from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Bunkie resident is killed in crash on La. 106

ST. LANDRY – On November 2, 2025, shortly after 5:00 p.m., Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop I began investigating a single-vehicle fatality crash on Louisiana Highway 106 near Lutz Loop. The crash claimed the life of 42-year-old Michael Fontenot of Bunkie.
