WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced that fire departments and emergency responders across Louisiana will receive $4,887,809 that he helped secure through the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program.

City is awarded $1.6 million in additional water funds

By: TONY MARKS Editor VILLE PLATTE - Mayor Ryan LeDay Williams, during the city council meeting held Tuesday, December 9, announced the city was approved for an additional $1.6 million from the state’s water sector committee for the construction of a new water well.
THE OLD MCCLELLAND FARM - This aerial shot of the McClelland Farm in rural Evangeline Parish was taken approximately 50 years ago. The home pictured was the second on site and was sold and moved into the town of Basile years ago. All of the outlying buildings shown have been demolished and replaced, but the oak trees shown (planted in 1922) still stand.
