LSU begins SEC play with win over Florida

By: TONY MARKS Editor BATON ROUGE - One offensive touchdown was enough for the LSU Tigers to pick up a 20-10 win over the Florida Gators on Saturday night. Aiding the Tigers to victory were five interceptions. One of which was returned for a touchdown for the final score of the night.

By: TONY MARKS Editor CROWLEY - With injuries to members of its running back corps, the Ville Platte High football team was forced to become one-dimensional and lean on the arm of its quarterback Zion Thomas in a 42-7 loss to Notre Dame. Thomas completed seven of his 14 passes for 154 yards.

By: TONY MARKS Editor OAKDALE - What started out to be a defensive battle between two schools separated by 28 miles turned into an offensive outburst on the part of the visiting team from Ville Platte as Sacred Heart defeated Oakdale 32-0 in the regular season opener for both teams.

By: TONY MARKS Editor The Ville Platte High Bulldogs began the regular season at home with a 47-8 loss against Northside. The Bulldogs avoided a shut out with a 29-yard touchdown run from David Fontenot and a two-point conversion in the fourth quarter.
