Basile holds on against East Beauregard, improves to 2-1 in league competition

BASILE -- The Basile Bearcats jumped out to a 20-0 lead after two quarters of play, but had to hold on in the second half for a 20-13 homecoming win over the East Beauregard Trojans Friday night. The win improved Basile to 4-2 on the season and 3-1 in District 4-1 play.

The Sacred Heart Trojans hosted the Catholic of Pointe Coupee Hornets Friday night for each team’s first district game of the season. The Hornets controlled the Trojans in every aspect of the contest to claim a 36-12 victory over Sacred Heart.

VILLE PLATTE – The Mamou Demons scored on the first drive of the fourth quarter and held on with an interception in the end zone on the last play of the game to complete a thrilling 24-20 comeback win over the Ville Platte Bulldogs.
