Basile knocked around by Oberlin; await playoff fate

MAMOU – The Mamou Demons quest for a slot in the 2019 LHSAA Class 3A playoffs came to an end Friday night as they dropped their final regular season game in a 20-0 loss to the Iota Bulldogs.
The Sacred Heart Trojans know they are in the Division IV playoffs.
They also know that a win probably won’t move them up in the final power ranking of the season.
Ville Platte is in need of a win and the only team that stands in their way of a possible playoff berth is a team that the Bulldogs are very familiar with; the Northwest Raiders.
For the Mamou Demon senior class, Friday night’s home contest against the Iota Bulldogs may be their last chance of getting into the playoffs in their career.
As far as the season is concerned, this will be the last game for the Pine Prairie Panthers in 2019.
Everything is on the line tomorrow night when the Basile Bearcats travel up Highway 26 to knock heads with the No. 2 ranked Oberlin Tigers.

OPELOUSAS – Sacred Heart’s defense held the number two team in Division IV, the Opelousas Catholic Vikings, to only 21 points.
