Note: Super Bowl IV champion Frank Pitts did coin toss, and the game was the first time the game was broadcast in Cajun French on KVPI.

Note: The Bulldogs win in overtime to extend their winning streak in the series to six but it would be the final time the two schools would play the annual game.

Note: After a four year hiatus, the Tee Cotton Bowl returned to the City of Ville Platte. At the Ville Platte High pep rally, Ville Platte Mayor Jennifer Vidrine escorted a live bulldog into the school’s gym and handed it over to new principal Melanie Miller. At the Trojans’ pep rally, Beau Lemoine came out dressed as a Tyrannosaurus Rex to show that everybody was wrong when they thought the game went away like the dinosaurs. The Trojans rushed for 159 yards on 36 carries and scored four touchdowns. JT Harper was named the game’s Most Valuable Player with his 18 rushes for 113 yards.

Year: 2018

Score: Sacred Heart 20, Ville Platte 7 Note: The Tee Cotton Bowl returned to Sacred Heart’s Soileau-Landry Field with much fanfare including the coin toss being conducted by Bishop Douglas Deshotel of the Diocese of Lafayette, who is an Evaneline Parish native. Once the game began, the Trojans controlled the tempo of the game by running 57 offensive plays with all but eight coming on the ground. Ville Platte High was not far behind calling 51 plays with 29 of them coming on the ground. The difference maker came when Wesley Launey returned a 63-yard punt setting up a touchdown from Alec Gotro.
