Ville Platte Elementary’s Ta’Laysia Burns has the chance to take part in the National American Miss Pageant after qualifying as a State Finalist who will now compete in the National American Miss Louisiana Pageant.
Burns is the daughter of Misty and Keith Serie of Ville Platte. She is 10-years-old and is a student in Amy Ortego’s class at VPE.
If Burns wins the National American Miss Louisiana Pre-teen pageant, which will be held on May 30 through June 1 at the beautiful Crowne Plaza in Baton Rouge, she will move on to compete in the national pageant at Disneyland in California. If she makes it to the national pageant, she will also be given the opportunity to tour Hollywood, and will be given the chance to represent the great state of Louisiana for the entire year.
Before she can make it to the national pageant, Burns is asking for support from the community to assist her with purchasing items she needs to compete at the state level. Sponsorship money will help with Burns’ cost for her formal dress, interview outfit, production number outfit, and hotel room.
Those who wish to sponsor Burns to help make what she called a “dream” come true, may also donate books and school supplies, which will go toward Burns’ pageant score.
