The Sacred Heart Trojan baseball team got off to a solid start, as they went 2-1 in the first three games of their 2020 campaign.
On Tuesday, Sacred Heart needed only five innings to run past Peabody 22-0. In that game, the Trojans collected 15 hits, eight of which were of the extra base variety.
The bats were not as efficient on Thursday afternoon, as Sacred Heart managed only five base hits in a 9-3 loss to the Bunkie Panthers.
Finally, on Friday, the Trojans piled up 11 runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to run-rule the Rapides Mustangs 12-1.
Here is a re-cap of those three games played.

Sacred Heart vs. Peabody
Sacred Heart left little doubt that this game would be a runaway contest, as the Trojans scored nine runs in the first inning alone.
That inning began with an single from Peyton Feutch and ended with double from Feutch. In between, Sacred Heart induced five walks and got another hit, a single off of the bat of Issac Leger.
The Trojans did not produce a run in the second inning, but found the bats again in the third inning, as they produced four runs on four hits. The big hits of the inning came from Hayden Fontenot, Christian Duplechin and Leger, all three with doubles.
Sacred Heart finished the game off by scoring six runs in the fourth and three more runs in the fifth.

Bunkie vs. Sacred Heart
Bunkie got the best of the Trojans early on in the game, gaining a 3-0 lead after two innings of play.
Sacred Heart collected their first run of the game in the bottom of the third when Connor Bordelon reached on a fielder’s choice and later scored on a passed ball.
The Panthers tacked on a run in the top of the fourth to extend their lead to 4-1. However, the Trojans answered right back in the bottom half of the inning by plating two runs of their own.
Lucas Vallet reached first with a lead off single, got to second on a passed ball and touched third base when Noah Soileau singled. A single off of the bat of brought Vallet home and sent Soileau to second. Two stolen bases later and Soileau was able to cross home plate.
From that point on it was all Bunkie, as the Panthers scored five runs in the top of the fifth to seal the win.

Rapides vs. Sacred Heart
It was not much of a game offensively for both teams, as Rapides and Sacred Heart could only manage a 1-1 tie after three innings of play.
Nevertheless, despite the lull at the plate over that span, the Trojans made up for it in spades in the bottom of the fourth inning, as they plated 11 runs to take control of the game.
That inning began with Bordelon reaching first when he was hit by a pitch. An error and two doubles later, by Vallet and Briggs Ardoin, and Sacred Heart owned a 4-1 lead.
The Trojans continued to pour it on, as Fontenot and Duplechin each doubled to extend the lead even farther. Sacred Heart sealed the game in the top of the fifth when Bordelon came into the game in relief to blank the Mustangs.
