VILLE PLATTE -- The Sacred Heart Trojans and Lady Trojans took to the court here Thursday night to take on J.S. Clark Academy in non-district contests.
The Lady Trojans (3-12) were able to blow past the Lady Bulldogs 51-11, while the Trojans (1-13) fell hard to the Bulldogs 71-24.
Both squads will be in action Tuesday night as they travel to Opelousas to take on Westminster.
Here is a re-cap of those two games played.

Sacred Heart (G)
vs. J.S. Clark
Thursday’s game at Sacred Heart was a performance any sports fan could appreciate as the Lady Trojans crushed the JS Clark Lady Bulldogs.
The beginning of the game was slow as both teams fought hard, but neither team could score any points. However after two and a half minuets of play Sacred Heart’s Blair LaFleur, started a scoring streak that was left unanswered for the rest of the first quarter, which resulted in the Trojans leading 18-0 at the end of the first quarter.
With more than enough room between their score and the Lady Bulldogs, the Lady Trojans began to play very confidently. The second quarter was also the first time we see JS Clark score a basket after nearly 10 minutes of play. Sacred Heart was immediately able to respond by going on a 15-0 run in the final six minutes of the half.
The second half started of a little bit slow, as over three minutes went by with neither team scoring a basket. This was no concern for the Trojans though as they began scoring basket after basket, with some great three-pointers by Shani Fontenot. At the end of the third quarter the Trojans were still in the lead, 46-6.
The last quarter of play was just a mater of closing the deal for the Lady Trojans.

Sacred Heart (B)
vs. J.S. Clark
The game started rough as the JS Clark boys went on a eight point scoring streak. Scared Heart seemed to be to overwhelmed at the speed and agility of the opposing team, as nearly four minutes went by before the Trojans were able to score a basket.
The Bulldogs responded only seconds later with a another scoring streak, leaving the Trojans struggling to orient themselves on the court. JS Clark closed out the first quarter with five more points and lead Sacred Heart 21-6 at the end of the period.
JS Clark opened the second quarter with a three-point shot almost immediately, and continued on a scoring streak until they led 32-6. At the 4:30 mark, the Trojans were able to land their fourth basket of the game.
But, the Bulldogs seemed to respond with a harder hit every time the Trojans would score a basket. The result of this hit was a 14 point streak by the Bulldogs, making the score 46-8. By the time the first half ended, JS Clardkhad a 52-14 lead.
The third quarter started the same as the two before it, with JS Clark scoring multiple baskets in a row. Sacred Heart continued to fight and the efforts were definitely noted by the fans who cheered when they scored.
Much of the remaining time was spent with the Trojans fighting the Bulldogs whole-heartedly, as they closed the gap as much as they could with multiple baskets scored, leaving the game at 63-19 when the horn sounded to end the third period.
The fourth quarter saw many of the younger players getting some time off of the bench.
