Garrett Fontenot walked and stole second base. With runners at second and third, Christian Duplechin singled home Launey and Fontenot. Alec Gotro followed with a single of his own, putting runners at first and second with no outs.
A sacrifice bunt from Cannon Beaver moved the two base runners up one bag. After a line out to short stop, the Knight defense made three errors in a row, plating Duplechin, Gotro and Cody Shipp who reached first on one of those errors.
Harper also made it to first on an error his second trip to the plate in the inning and stole second base. A trio of walks pushed Haper home for the final run of the at bat.
Slaughter Charter threatened in the bottom of the first, putting runners at second and third, with both reaching on a hit by pitch. However, the combination of good pitching from starter Cannon Beaver and solid defense got the Trojans out of the jam.
Sacred Heart continued the onslaught in the top of the second, adding five more runs to their total. Beaver earned a lead off walk and stole second base. A double off of the bat of Shipp scoring Beaver followed a ground out.
Another ground ball recorded the second out, but moved Shipp to third base. Harper reached on a error that plated Shipp and promptly stole second and third base.
Launey doubled home Harper. Fontenot walked to put runners at first and second once again. Duplechin singled home Launey and moved Fontenot to third base. The final run of the inning was scored when Fontenot crossed home plate on a Gotro single.
