MANSURA -- The Sacred Heart Trojans and Lady Trojans took their game on the road to Mansura Thursday night to face off against the Avoyelles Charter Vikings and Lady Vikings in non-district action.
However, it was not the night that either team desired, as both the Trojans and the Lady Trojans struggled mightily on the offensive side of the floor.
The Lady Trojans found themselves down early and despite a valiant fourth quarter effort, fell to the Lady Vikings by the score of 43-27. With the loss, Sacred Heart dropped to 2-12 on the year. The Lady Trojans will take on J.S Clark on January 4 in their next contest.
The Trojans found themselves looking for any type of offense, as they succumbed to the Viking man-to-man pressure in a 60-21 loss. Sacred Heart fell to 1-12 on the season and will also take on J.S. Clark on January 4.
Here is a run down of those two games played.

Sacred Heart (G) vs.
Avoyelles Charter
Avoyelles Charter began the game with tons of defensive pressure and it paid off. Despite the two-point basket from Sacred Heart’s Blair Lafleur at the 6:36 mark, the Lady Vikings were able to jump out to a 15-4 lead due to several Lady Trojan turnovers.
The second quarter was kinder to Sacred Heart offensively. The Lady Trojans were able to make some key baskets and picked up double their output from the first period to trial 26-12 at the half.
But, the offensive woes continued in the third quarter for Sacred Heart, as they were only able to pick up a single basket. The fourth period saw the Lady Trojans gain some life from the floor, as Shani Fontenot hit on a trio of three-pointers to help Sacred Heart pick up 13 points. Never-the-less it was not enough to overcome the Avoyelles Charter lead.
