Tuesday night saw plenty of district action for the Sacred Heart Lady Trojans and both Pine Prairie basketball teams, as all three teams looked for some momentum heading toward the last one-third of the year.
Sacred Heart hosted Catholic of Pointe Coupee in the hopes of evening their league record. The Lady Trojans failed to do just that, falling to the Lady Hornets 38-21 to drop to 4-15 on the year and 1-3 in district play.
In what turned out to be a split decision, the Panthers and Lady Panthers hit the road down Highway 13 to take on the Crowley Gents and Ladies for a chance to gain some ground in Distirct 5-3A.
The Lady Panthers exploded in the final quarter to take the 34-26 win, while the Panthers were unable to sneak past Crowley in a hard fought 57-56 loss.
With the win the Lady Panthers improved to 7-13 on the season and 3-6 in district action, while the Panthers fell to 9-10 on the season and 1-5 in district.
Both teams will travel to Church Point on Friday.
