Pine Prairie improves to 7-3 overall on the season and is scheduled to play Plainview tomorrow night at home.

St. Edmund
vs. Basile
The lack of offense by Basile in the first quarter played a huge role in their loss to St. Edmund, as the Lady Jays outpaced the Lady Bearcats 21-6 in the opening period.
Basile got back on track in the second quarter, scoring 19 points. However, St. Edmund was two points better in the quarter to take a 17 point lead into the locker room.
Basile answered the bell in the final two quarters, scoring 10 and 20 points respectfully. Still, it was too little too late, as the Lady Jays rode their first half success to victory.
Frida Alvarez knocked down 21 points for the Lady Bearcats, while Lainey Soileau added 18 points in the losing cause.
The loss drops Basile to 0-4 on the season. The Lady Bearcats were scheduled to play South Cameron in their first district contest tonight.

Marksville
vs. Mamou
Defensive pressure from Marksville led to a number of Mamou turnovers and easy baskets from the Lady Tigers, as the Lady Demons fell behind 13-1 after one quarter of play.
The onslaught continued at the start of the second period, with Marksville owning a 23-4 lead at the 4:10 mark. Nevertheless, the relentlessness of the Lady Demons allowed them to close the gap to 23-11 at the end of the first half.
Mamou continued to claw their way back, cutting the Marksville lead to four, 33-29, as the third quarter came to a close. However, it was too much Lady Tigers down the stretch, as they closed out the game with an 18-4 advantage in the final period.
