Mamou, Pine Prairie pick up wins; Sacred Heart, Ville Platte fall

It was a week full of action for four parish hard court teams, as non-district action has heated up before the Christmas holidays and the district season begins come January.
In girl’s basketball action the Pine Prairie Lady Panthers looked for some revenge in their re-match with the Sacred Heart Lady Trojans. Just last week, Sacred Heart took down Pine Prairie by one point in the Parish Tournament.
This past Tuesday night, the Lady Panthers were up to the task, as they reversed the tables on the Lady Trojans taking home the 39-38 non-district win.
The Mamou Demons were also looking to restore some confidence back in themselves after falling to Ville Platte in the recently held Parish Tournament. The Demons took out all of their frustration on Monday night, blowing past the Rosepine Eagles 75-55.
The Ville Platte Lady Bulldogs are in a rebuilding year and have struggle somewhat throughout the young season. That struggle continued on Tuesday, as the Lady Bulldogs took 41-28 loss from the Northwest Lady Raiders.

Mamou (B)
vs. Rosepine
The Mamou Demons wasted no time in establishing who the dominant team was, taking a 20-12 lead after one quarter of play.
A pretty evenly matched second quarter made the score 33-16 in favor of the Demons at halftime.
But, it was the offensive explosiveness by Mamou in the second half that capped off the win, as the Demons scored 19 and 23 points respectively in the final two quarters.

Pine Prairie (G)
vs. Sacred Heart
A wild game saw the Lady Panthers jump out to a 19-12 lead after one half of play.
However, the Lady Trojans out matched Pine Prairie 16-8 in the third quarter to take a one point lead.
But the Lady Panthers were able to hold on in the final period to take the win.

Ville Platte (G)
vs. Northwest
On a sluggish offensive night, Ville Platte only managed to score 16 points in the first three quarters.
Ville Platte finished the game with 12 points in the fourth quarter.
