VILLE PLATTE -- The Tigers and Lady Tigers of Lake Arthur paid the Ville Platte Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs a visit on Thursday afternoon for some good old fashioned district baseball and softball competition.
Unfortunately for both Ville Platte clubs, Lake Arthur came to play, as they took both games here at the Bulldog complex.
Here is a rundown of those two games played here.
Lake Arthur (SB)
vs. Ville Platte
Lake Arthur jumped out to the early lead, as they plated five runs in the top of the first inning on their way to a 14-2 win.
Ville Platte answered with two runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning when Kendralyn Doucet and Hannah Monier each scored for the Lady Bulldogs.
The Lady Tigers added two more runs in the second, two runs in the third, a single run in the fourth and their final three runs in the fifth inning.
Lake Arthur (B)
vs. Ville Platte
Lake Arthur collected 18 hits on their way to a 18-1 win over Ville Platte.
The Tigers began the game by picking up two runs in their very first at bat. Lake Arthur went scoreless in the second, only to add five more runs in the third inning.
The Tigers knocked in two more runs in the fourth and eight runs in the fifth inning.
Ville Platte’s lone run came in the fourth inning when Jaishaun Doucet doubled and scored on a base hit by Alex Griffith.
