Season 3 of the St. John Summer Recreational Basketball League has started, and it is a free summer program to help the underprivileged youth get a chance to showcase their basketball skills and learn teamwork and collaboration. Ville Platte City Councilman Shawn Roy expressed, “I would like to thank the sponsors, Mayor Ryan Williams, Assessor Chris Guillory, State Representative Rhonda Butler, St John Baptist Church, Paul’s Meat Market, SLB, Cabot, and AES Solutions for sponsoring this event every year.
