Local athletes compete at state cross country championship
By: TONY MARKS LSN Sports Editor NATCHITOCHES - Cross country runners from across the state braved the elements as they competed in the 2022 LHSAA state championships on Monday, November 14. A number of athletes from Allen and Evangeline Parishes, as well as the Plainview community, represented their schools by competing in their respective events. In Girls Division III, Pine Prairie finished 16th with a score of 436. Their total time was 2:08:23. As for Kinder, they finished with a score of 454 in 18th place and with a total time of 2:10:41. In individual results: Pine Prairie’s Janie Gilbert finished 48th with a score of 45 and a total time of 22:29.6, Jesslyn Richard finished 81st with a score of 76 and a total time of 24:49.0, Alexis Folse placed 96th with a score of 91 and a total time of 25:53.2, Karlee Bordelon placed 116th with a score of 111 and a total time of 27:28.2, Cameron Willis placed 118th with a score of 113 and a total time of 27:43.1, and Lauren Fontenot placed 128th with a score of 123 and a total time of 30:00.8. Kinder’s Cisily Hill finished 70th with a score of 65 and a total time of 24:04.0, Megan Fusilier finished in 79th place with a score of 74 and a total time of 24:42.5, Grace Oustalet placed 97th with a score of 92 and a total time of 25:55.6, Ellie Buller placed 110th with a score of 105 and a total time of 26:56.5, Madison Howell finished 123rd with a score of 118 and a total time of 29:02.5, Ava Fontenot finished in 127th place with a score of 122 and a total time of 27:48.7, and Carmon Sellers placed 131st with a score of 126 and a total time of 30:43.3. In Boys Division III, Kinder placed 19th with a score of 583 total time of 1:51:15, and Pine Prairie finished 20th with a score of 584 and a total time of 1:52:05. In individual results: Pine Prairie’s Cooper Carson placed 94th with a score of 91 and a total time of 20:17.2, Samuel Fontenot placed 126th with a score of 120 and a total time of 22:41.9, Kayden Vercher placed 128th with a score of 122 and a total time of 22:53.3, Jayland Duplechin placed 132nd with a score of 125 and a total time of 23:05.4, Tyron Doucet placed 133rd with a score of 126 and a total time of 23:06.8, Hunter Brown placed 134th with a score of 127 and a total time of 23:17.2, and Logan Vidrine placed 145th with a score of 137 and a total time of 24:02.9. Kinder’s Riley Lantron placed 105th with a score of 102 and a total time of 21:04.2, Riddick Meaux finished 106th with a score of 103 and a total time of 21:05.4, Kingston Fontenot placed 118th with a score of 113 and a total time of 21:34.2, Henry Prejean finished 139th with a score of 131 and a total time of 23:35.7, Adrian Hamilton placed 142nd with a score of 134 and a total time of 23:54.7, Tyler Chaumont placed 148th with a score of 140 and a total time of 27:24.4, and Jaron Joseph placed 149th with a score of 141 and a total time of 29:43.3. Ville Platte’s Kaden Ardoin placed 110th with a total time of 21:15.6, Alex Melancon placed 121st with a total time of 21:42.6, Ta’von Anderson placed 131st with a total time of 23:01.6, and Caden Williams placed 136th with a total time of 23:22.4. In Girls Division V, Plainview placed 12th with a score of 331 and a total time of 2:25:09. In individual results: Elizabeth’s Victoria Odom placed 27th with a total time of 23:54.6 and Jalea Odom placed 39th with a total time of 25:00.5. Plainview’s Caitlyn Johnson placed 50th with a score of 37 and a total time of 25:36.8, Karley Perkins placed 74th with a score of 58 and a total time of 28:00.1, Rhyen Wallace finished 93rd with a score of 76 and a total time of 30:13.0, Autumn Johnson placed 96th with a score of 79 and a total time of 30:37.6, Maci Miller placed 98th with a score of 81 and a total time of 30:41.4, Bailey Dunn placed 106th with a score of 89 and a total time of 32:09.7, and Chloe Carpenter placed 116th with a score of 99 and a total time of 34:42.0. In Girls Division IV, Sacred Heart placed 19th with a score of 538 and a total time of 2:12:11. Taylor Darbonne placed 100th with a score of 88 and a total time of 24:35.1, Anna Breaux placed 112th with a score of 100 and a total time of 25:37.7, Catherine Larson placed 124th with a score of 111 and a total time of 26:33.0, Emma Jorden placed 128th with a score of 115 and a total time of 27:01.3, Jacelyn Pitre finished 137th with a score of 124 and a total time of 28:23.1, Adeline Launey placed 138rd with a score of 125 and a total time of 28:31.4, and Ali Fontenot placed 144th with a score of 131 and a total time of 29:45.5. In Boys Division V, Plainview finished in the top 10 in 7th place. In Boys Division IV, Sacred Heart’s Jackson Soileau placed 109th with a total time of 21:16.1.
